Sections

The Development Planning division has three sections: Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP), Development Policy, and Population; with the following distinct functions:


Functions of the Public Sector Investment Program Section

  • Prepare the Public Sector Investment ProgramAppraise and prioritize public investments that ensure alignment with national development prioritiesDevelop and review criteria for developing plans, projects, and programmesManage the PSIP databaseProvide technical advice and assistance to line ministries in formulating development program proposalsPrepare mid-year and annual development reports, such as Budget Document No. 6Guide integration of cross-cutting development issues like population, gender, and environment into development plansRecommend financing of approved development programs


Functions of the Development Policy Section

  • Analyze and determine national development prioritiesCoordinate national adherence to global development targetsProvide input for formulating medium and long-term national development policies and strategies


Functions of the Population Section

  • Coordinate the implementation of National Population PolicyCoordinate the integration of population variables in development plans, policies, and programmesCoordinate and conduct population-related research and surveysCoordinate the formulation and review of population-related policies and instrumentsAdvocate for population issues to create awareness of the link between population and development
